Custom Arrangement Deposit
Please click on the gold text to place your custom arrangement required deposit. The following are details regarding "custom" arrangements. I do "custom" 4-part vocal arranging starting at a "base rate" of $300 for a 2.5 min. duration arrangement. Arrangements (including medleys) over 2.5 mins. duration or arrangements of more than 4 parts would be more. Please note that the fee for a 4-part arrangement with a duration of more than 2.5 mins. is calculated at $2 per second after the base 2.5 minutes @ $300. Concerning choruses, I always attempt to write arrangements in 4 parts, however occasionally, a song may require more than 4 parts (here and there) to be "true" to the composer's chords and melody. These occasional additional parts will increase your cost slightly. After you pay the customary $150 deposit for a "custom" arrangement, and I get into the song and determine what's called for, I'll email you with a fairly accurate cost figure. However, you should be able to calculate your cost fairly accurately yourself, from the above info. Regarding "chorus" arrangements, please note that some choruses actually want me to write an arrangement with more than 4 parts,... which I am very capable of doing,... and which I enjoy immensely! I always try to keep you informed of progress with the arrangement,... especially anything involving cost. After the arrangement is completed, I will email it to you (as a PDF doc.) along with an invoice for the balance due. Please note that there are generally "minor tweaks" I make to my arrangements, so the first copy you receive will most likely not be the "final draft." PLEASE NOTE: A "song" licensing fee must be paid by you (the customer) directly to the publisher who controls the copyright of the song I arrange. I will supply the publisher contact information to you. For a quartet, the publisher's licensing fee can be anywhere from $8 to $150+ (for 4 copies). For a chorus, the publisher's licensing fee can be anywhere from $1.89 to $10!!! (per each copy) My arrangements always come with a 1-year exclusive. I don't write arrangements with a complete (forever) exclusive since, in that case, I'd have to charge what commercial arrangers charge ($600 to $700) for the actual time I put into the arrangement. In the "barbershop world", this, of course, would be prohibitive. My arranger's fee also includes a very professional instrumentally played mp3 "full, balanced mix" demo of exactly how the arrangement should be sung,... even in the case of a ballad arrangement with rubato "interp."
