If there is an asterisk "*" after a song title, then it is NOT a Larry Wright arrangement.

Per Copy Fees

The statement (below) that appears on the last page of my arrangement does not prohibit you from performing this arrangement,....even for profit. What it actually says is:

1. This arrangement needs to be "cleared" (authorized) by the publisher who controls the rights to the song which I have arranged. As of January, 2000, I'm asking clients to pay all clearance fees (if the arrangement being purchased is not already cleared) as well as the per-copy fees. This is primarily due to the huge increase in publishers clearance fees.

2. It also means that a "per-copy" fee needs to be paid to the publisher by choruses who use this arrangement. Payment of the "per-copy" fees, in effect, gives the purchaser 'license' to use the arrangement legally. "Per-copy" fees vary from song to song.... from 35 cents per copy to $1 per copy. All Warner Bros. controlled music is generally $1 per copy. For arrangements cleared through Sweet Adelines International, the first 4 copies are free, so quartets don't have to be concerned with "per-copy" fees. For arrangements cleared through Harmony Foundation, I believe the fee for quartets is $7 per song. If the "per-copy" fee is not stated at the bottom of page 1 of the arrangement, please ask me.

A separate check (or cash, for international clientele) for these "per-copy" fees should be sent to me. If, for example, the "per-copy" fee for this arrangement is 50 cents and you have 100 members in your chorus, a check should be made payable to me for $50. Always document on the check what the payment is for! I, in turn, will issue my personal check (if it's cash you send) or endorse your check and make it payable to either Sweet Adelines International or Harmony Foundation, whichever organization I have registered ("authorized") the arrangement through. That takes care of your and my legal obligation to the publisher. The publishers require arrangers to include the following statement on each arrangement.

"No recording, public performance for profit, or any other use requiring authorization, or reproduction or sale of copies in any form shall be made of or from the arrangement unless licensed by the copyright owners or an agent or organization acting on behalf of the copyright owners".
